🩺 What is a Midline Catheter?
A Midline catheter is a vascular access device inserted into a peripheral vein of the upper arm. It is typically 3–8 inches long and terminates before the axillary vein.
- Suitable for 1–4 weeks of therapy
- Commonly used for IV antibiotics, hydration, and certain medications
- Placed under ultrasound guidance for accuracy and safety
- Quick and easy access
- Less invasive than a PICC Line
